Sacrament of Anointing
Like all the sacraments, holy anointing was instituted by Jesus Christ throughout his ministry.
Communal Anointing is held twice a year, during the spring and the fall. One is held during a weekend Mass and the other during a special weekday Mass. We believe in the power of this holy anointing, therefore, individual Anointing is encouraged, especially before surgery, during an illness, and for the elderly.
Please contact the church office if someone, ill in any way, wishes to receive the Lord's healing sacrament.
Anointing of the Sick (who it’s for)
Who can receive the Anointing of the Sick? How often? Where is it done?
These questions and more are answered in this edition of “Sacraments 101,” a web video series geared for those who’d like an introduction or refresher course on these important, tangible Catholic experiences of God.
